Adoption Process and Contracts
Application and Screening
All prospective adopters must complete an adoption application. We reserve the right to approve or deny any application at our sole discretion. The application process helps us ensure our kittens are placed in appropriate, loving homes.
Adoption Contract
Upon approval of an adoption application, adopters will enter into a written adoption contract that outlines the specific terms of the adoption, including:
- Purchase price and payment terms
- Health guarantee provisions
- Spay/neuter requirements (if applicable)
- Care and welfare obligations
- Return policy
Deposits and Payments
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a kitten. The deposit amount will be specified in your adoption contract and applied toward the total adoption fee. Full payment is due before the kitten leaves our care.
Deposits are non-refundable except in the following circumstances:
- The kitten becomes unavailable due to health issues
- We are unable to fulfill the adoption for reasons within our control
Health Guarantee
Our health guarantee is detailed in our Health Guarantee page and will be included in your adoption contract. Please review this information carefully before adopting.
Adopter Responsibilities
By adopting a kitten from Florida Russian Blue Kittens, you agree to:
- Provide appropriate veterinary care throughout the cat's life
- Keep the cat indoors for safety and health
- Provide proper nutrition, grooming, and enrichment
- Comply with spay/neuter requirements if specified in the contract
- Not sell, give away, or surrender the cat to a shelter without first contacting us
- Maintain contact with us and provide updates as requested
Return Policy
If for any reason you are unable to keep your Russian Blue, you must contact us first. We maintain a lifetime return policy and will work with you to either take the cat back or help find an appropriate new home. Under no circumstances should our cats be surrendered to shelters or rescue organizations without our knowledge.
Breeding Rights
Unless explicitly stated otherwise in your adoption contract, all kittens are sold as pets only without breeding rights. Breeding our cats without written permission is strictly prohibited and constitutes a breach of contract.

Indemnification

Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions or the adoption of a kitten shall be resolved through good faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through mediation or arbitration in accordance with Florida law.

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Severability
